GUINNESS AND THE SAPEURS – The Elegant Persons of The Congo

VIVA La CONGO! and The Sapeurs (The Society of Elegant Persons)!

The Democratic Republic of the Congo and its neighbor the Republic of the Congo—are known for the Sapeurs of Brazzaville and Kinshasa  for their fashion consciousness and the clothes they wear. This write up is spotlighting these lovely African people, and is not an endorsement of the Guinness brand.  To each, be responsible 🙂 Guinness launched a new ad that features a group of Congolese men (Sapeurs) who are famous for their sharply colorful suits.  A wise media & advertising strategy, I must say.  Branding these days is all about the visuals and if you observe the waves, Africa, is already rising..

“Here in the Congo everyone is a Sapeur.” “Sapology is in our blood.” “The president of our nation is our greatest Sapeur.” – Brazza Men

The Guinness Ad shows members from the Sapeurs of the Congo getting changed into their tailored suits before gathering around a Guinness branded bar.
