I wish you a year more fulfilling and in every way better than 2016. Stay focused, stay vigilant, stay positive.
Here’s a musical offering from me to you to set you on the right inspirational note for the year. It’s titled“Heaven Knows” , chorus inspired by Osibisa’s“We are going”1971 track. I heard the voice of Mr Brown, themale vocals you will hear on the song as a feature on Casey Ed’s song “Hear Me Now”, both of these talented young men are doing great things musically in Nigeria.
As soon as I heard Brown’s voice, I knew I had to get him on a track. We were able to work it out virtually within a few days despite a few challenges. So here I leave with you “Heaven Knows”, keep pushing, keep working hard, keep praying, God’s got your back, Heaven knows you will get there.
Stay blessed in 2017 and beyond! Download here and please do share. Merci Beaucoup!

New Music Release – Heaven Knows by ✿ TOSINGER ✿ ft Mr Brown
Atlanta based Singer/Songwriter & the Queen of afrosoulful nostalgia, Tosinger releases “Heaven Knows” ft the very soulful voice of Nigerian Producer/Singer/Songwriter ~ Mr Brown. A new song to usher in the new year for the goal setters, the dreamers and the world changers, ‘Heaven Knows’ is a song of faith and destiny. It features a sampled chorus of Ghana’s Osibisa’s Woyaa yaa (We are going) released in 1971. Tosinger is known for her inclination for afro~folklore and classics while incorporating lyrics with Yoruba proverbs and sayings on a contemporary musical platform. The song aims to set the tone right for 2017 on a positive, inspirational note, that all things are possible and freedom (in all sense of the word) is inevitable at the end, only if you believe. Been a minute. Hope this blog post meets you in good health and great expectations for the coming new year. Compliments of the season to you.
2016 has been somehow somehow but we still give thanks to our Creator, we are alive to continue to pursue our passions and add value to the earth and fellow humanity. This 2016 has seen a lot of deaths, famous people who have contributed their quota to life, old and young, some sadly gone too soon, people we know and people we don’t know. I believe our legends are passing the baton. Are you one of the ones to take it and keep the creativity flow going? Are you ready to create your own legacy, create something new, of value that you will be remembered for? We’ve lost so many great ones this year. Especially in the arts and entertainment industry. Their works live on and their legacies remain in memoriam.
Below, I share with you a poem written by a talented young poet and master of words who I connected with on Facebook who goes by the pseudonym ‘Happy Prince’. Readbelow, after this tribute video courtesy “Do You Remember?”Facebook page, which is a live video being updated as time goes by as we are sadly, being surprised daily of news of sudden deaths. May the souls of the departed rest in peace. Amen!
Gone like the day, Like its sun, Your journey is like today, Tomorrow it will not return,
Torn from existence, Your race has known its end, No matter the strength of resistance, Your remains no longer on this air depend,
As you shook hands with death, Your legend was born, Ferried through all the earth, Who says you are done,
Your light brightened the path of many, Your voice knew no race, You shared love with people diverse and plenty, Leaving hatred no trace,
Let the sun shine, Let the moon glow, Let the birds travel at ‘half mast’ in a straight line, Let the land whiten with snow,
Let eyes bleed tears, Let voices shake with emotion, Let dirges ring in both ears, For another train has left the station,
You conquered though outnumbered, We celebrate your bravery, Your name will ever be remembered, We will tell you’d story,
A story hot on history’s lips, Generations will hear and learn, The least of the secrets it keeps, Even time will pen,
She is the definition of true beauty, deep in thought and delivery. All you need is an opportunity to engage her. She’s got the warmest, sweetest personality that rejuvenates your belief in humanity once more.

Ladies and gentlemen, please meet the eclectic woman of art, musician, writer and storyteller, TOSINGER!
funTAQA caught up with her when she visited Nigeria recently and she’s got quite some gist for her fans.
How long have you been into the music business?
Professionally? Since 2003, so about 13 years now. Before then, as a little girl growing up, I’ve always sang in church and any platform of opportunity I find to use my voice.
What are you listening to lately?
Depends on my mood per time, but currently it’s a…
Heartwarming greetings from my African sunkissed heart to yours 🙂 and a Happy new month of August to you!
I just arrived from my home country of Nigeria the past month of July, promoting my debut album“Organically Singing” and garnering some press/media presence and on ground performances. Follow me at @Tosinger on instagram to have a sneak peak of that journey, see a few pics below. Thank God for His mercies, grace and favor and thank you Lagos for your hospitality.
I am also delighted to present to you a creative product of my visit to Nigeria which is officially released digitally today. I worked with the multitalented Producer/Musician – FloRocka– on my latest project, an audio drama/spoken word titled ‘Silent Thoughts’.
‘Silent Thoughts‘ is an Audio Drama/Spoken Word/Storytelling Project with an afro-theatrical edge addressing the issues of our times. As a spoken form of art on a musical backdrop, ‘Silent Thoughts’ intends to provoke and inspire thought towards change. Things have been quiet lately about the Chibok Girls. Whatever happened to #BringBackOurGirls? What is currently happening?
It’s been a minute and here is what I’ve been working on. I sing, I write, I act and I tell stories. I am a modern day griot and a cultural ambassador and my name is Tosinger. 🙂
Here’s introducing, the first vlog/webisode/series, whatever you choose to call it, edition of my weekly (on Tuesdays) folk storytelling project- TALES WITH TOSINGER,
Folk tales and fables are an educational and entertaining means of passing down traditions and customs from one generation to the next. An African tradition for several generations, adults would tell tales by the moonlight while teaching morals and lessons. I have chosen to gather adults and children alike around a social app, a youtube video, the millennial way to get the world’s attention 😉

As you celebrate the miracle of this special season, may your heart be filled with joy and peace. May Jesus, the reason of the season and the blessing of Christmas, guide your heart always.
I thank you for joining me on my journey this year. 2015 has been full of valleys and mountains. I thank God for all. Notable musical/artistic milestones for me include the release of my debut album ‘Organically Singing’ in July and being an opening act for ‘Lagbaja’ at the Variety Playhouse in May.
To God, I’m grateful. To you, my family and friends, I say thank you for your continued support. Let us look forward to new connections, new horizons, new projects in 2016. It has been a very blessed year and I am very grateful. Here is a token of my appreciation, my Christmas gift to you; it is a free download of ‘Olugbala’ – a Christmas single I wrote a little while back. Download here and feel free to share.
I hope 2015 was good for you too and I pray in faith that 2016 will be better. It is my hope that in 2016, you will absolutely dominate your unique space of inspiration and influence.
(a paraphrase of words used by MsUdoak, loved the expression)
Enjoy a happy holiday season full of family quality time, friends and fun! As we prepare to enter into the new year, I wish you all a restful break and a successful 2016.
Enjoy these two simple videos I did recently for 2 songs off the album – ‘Te Amo’ and “Jiji Moji’
Jiji Moji (I’m awake) is a song to start the day off right, thanking God for life. Take time during the rush of the holidays to enjoy the things in life that really matter.
Te Amo (I love you) – Let the message and power of love latch on to your heart and soul.

November 20 was National Headwrap Day. A lot of people took to social media to share their flawlessly wrapped crowns. Although, how the acknowledged day came about is not quickly recognized, individuals have been celebrating the day on the web as far back as 2013.
As I turn a year older today, I turn on the reflective mode switch as a Google search made me stumble on some before and after pictures of a few notable celebs who honed their craft and shone their light in their hey days.
I am right-smack in the middle of the transitioning process as I raise my fist to knock on the 40’s door, not there yet, but so close I can smell the wood. It is said that the best time to bend a stick is when it is green. I pray that God in His infinite mercies and grace will allow me to express my talent and walk energetically in my calling in this afternoon & green~y phase of life. To feed the yearn for fulfillment, follow that dream, now not later, now, when the face/skin is still smooth and the body firmer. Aging is not a bad thing, it is in fact a beautiful thing to embrace as we will all grow old and wrinkly one day. The inevitability of life. The most important thing is what is done, that dash in between those two significant dates of one’s life.
I see my present in the before images below. As ‘they’ say, feed the body right, move it when you can, guard your heart from negativity, try to be happy 99% of the time, care for your loved ones, be selfless while taking care of ‘you’ and be spiritually connected to your maker, then you’ll age gracefully, as one cannot turn back the hand of the aging physical process but our youth surely can be renewed like the eagle’s inwardly; if we start living right, right now, not later. So help me God. Happy Birthday to me 🙂
He fills my life with good things. My youth is renewed like the eagle’s! Ps 103:5
