New Music – Heaven Knows by ✿ TOSINGER ✿ ft Mr Brown

Hello again and welcome to 2017!

I wish you a year more fulfilling and in every way better than 2016. Stay focused, stay vigilant, stay positive.

Here’s a musical offering from me to you to set you on the right inspirational note for the year. It’s titled “Heaven Knows” , chorus inspired by Osibisa’s “We are going” 1971 track. I heard the voice of Mr Brown, the male vocals you will hear on the song as a feature on Casey Ed’s song “Hear Me Now”, both of these talented young men are doing great things musically in Nigeria.

As soon as I heard Brown’s voice, I knew I had to get him on a track. We were able to work it out virtually within a few days despite a few challenges. So here I leave with you “Heaven Knows”, keep pushing, keep working hard, keep praying, God’s got your back, Heaven knows you will get there.

Stay blessed in 2017 and beyond! Download here and please do share. Merci Beaucoup!

The Years of Evolving ~ Gratefully and Gracefully Aging

My mom and I. Left circa 1980 and right 2014

As I turn a year older today, I turn on the reflective mode switch  as a Google search made me  stumble on some before and after pictures of a few  notable celebs who honed their craft and shone their light in their hey days.

I am right-smack in the middle of the transitioning process as I raise my fist to knock on the 40’s door, not there yet, but so close I can smell the wood. It is said that the best time to bend a stick is when it is green. I pray that God in His infinite mercies and grace will allow me to express my talent and walk energetically in my calling in this afternoon & green~y phase of life. To feed the yearn for fulfillment, follow that dream, now not later, now, when the face/skin is still smooth and the body firmer. Aging is not a bad thing, it is in fact a beautiful thing to embrace as we will all grow old and wrinkly one day. The inevitability of life. The most important thing is what is done, that dash in between those two significant dates of one’s life.

I see my present  in the before images below. As ‘they’ say, feed the body right,  move it when you can, guard  your heart from negativity, try to be happy 99% of the time, care for your loved ones, be selfless while taking care of ‘you’ and be spiritually connected to  your maker, then you’ll age gracefully, as one cannot turn back the hand of the aging physical process but our youth surely can be renewed like the eagle’s inwardly; if we start living right, right now, not later. So help me God. Happy Birthday to me 🙂

He fills my life with good things. My youth is renewed like the eagle’s! Ps 103:5

The selections below are as random as my distracted Google search led me. It is interesting to see the physical changes of their beautiful selves.

Björk – is an Icelandic singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, producer and occasional actress. She initially became known as the lead singer of the alternative rock band The Sugarcubes, whose 1987 single “Birthday” was a hit on US and UK indie stations.

Sade Adu  – Helen Folasade Adu, OBE, better known as Sade, is a British Nigerian singer, songwriter, composer, and record producer. She first achieved success in the 1980s as the frontwoman and lead vocalist of the Brit and Grammy Award-winning group Sade.

Ayokunle FalomoHouston, Texas

writer. storyteller. dreamer. poet – whose pen is a metaphor for a shovel, to unearth those things that make us: human.

“So, what brought you here?”, or the more direct variant “Why are you here?”, is a question I’ve been asked quite a bit. I’ll attempt to answer that briefly but I’m sure there will be more to talk about. It started with a move here to the United States with my Dad, November of 2007 after the completion of my high school education in Nigeria.I graduated from the University of Houston in the Fall of 2012 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology (minor in Medicine and Society) with the intention of pursuing Clinical Psychology. Life had different plans however. Close to the time of applying for Graduate School, I found out about & switched interests to School Psychology (which I currently pursue at Sam Houston State University). When I’m not doing any Psychology related stuff, I write & perform poems that attempt to answer yet another question “what makes us human?”

Press Toward The Goal

Hello Everyone,

This article  from UCB  resonated so well with my spirit this morning that I decided to share the love. Be inspired.

Be Passionate About It
‘Press toward the goal for the prize…’ Philippians 3:14
Albert Schweitzer said, ‘Success is not the key to happiness, happiness is the key to success. If you love what you are doing, you will be successful.’ When you feel passionate about something and allow yourself to pursue it, you position yourself to succeed in life. The majority of people in the world don’t follow their passion; as a result, they’re frustrated and unhappy. And you can see it in how they live their lives. Publisher Malcolm Forbes said, ‘The biggest mistake people make in life is not trying to make a living at what they enjoy.’ As a result, they simply endure their working lives instead of making the most of them. They live for the weekends. They try to hang on until retirement. That’s a shame, because your chance of success is directly proportional to the degree of pleasure you derive from what you do. Tommy Lasorda, manager of the Los Angeles Dodgers baseball team, said, ‘The best day of my life is when I manage in a winning game. And the second best day of my life is when I manage in a losing game.’ In other words, every day he was involved in the game was a day he was living his dream. Are you? Dreams come true when gifts are set on fire with passion. The best career advice you will ever receive is to discover your God-given passion and follow it. Logan Pearsall Smith said, ‘There are two things to aim at in life; first, to get what you want; and after that, to enjoy it. Only the wisest of mankind achieve the second.’ So ‘press toward the goal for the prize.’
